JKUAT Portal: How To Register Courses, Pay School Fees, And Check Results Online

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) is a public educational institution located near Nairobi in Kenya. JKUAT was established in the year 1994 but began as Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology in 1981. The university was named after Jomo Kenyatta the then president who donated 200 hectares of land for the establishment of the institution.

JKUAT is an award winning institution offering courses in sciences, Engineering, Technology, Building sciences and Architecture. The school has 14 colleges and institutes with 13 campuses and centres to meet the needs of over 20,000 students.

 

Online Student Portal

The online student portal makes it easy for student to have direct access to services available in the university. Students can now register units, access fee statements, check semester results and more.

In order for students to begin using the online portal they have to first create an account online by simply

  1. Visit the portal at http://portal.jkuat.ac.ke
  2. Enter your student ID which is the first part of your email address that carries your name
  3. Enter your initial password which is your student registration number in lower cases (small letters)
  4. Once you have access to your personal portal you can change your login details and password at any time by clicking on change details and entering the new login details.

How To Register Courses Or Units Online

Students can register for semester course online at the beginning of each semester by

  1. Go the your student portal by login to http://portal.jkuat.ac.ke
  2. Enter your Login details i.e. your username and password in lowercases (small letters).
  3. Click on the login tab
  4. On the display page click on units and begin the online course registration process.
  5. Use the quick add drop down menu to search for courses to be registered.
  6. Enter the course code to be registered and click on add.
  7. After adding the course, verify courses and click on register to finish registration.
  8. Once you have finished the registration the screen then display the list of registered courses for your confirmation.
  9. Make sure you print out a hard copy as evidence of course registration and keep it safe.

 

How To Pay School Fees

Students of JKUAT can pay their fees by either

  • Paying the full amount at the beginning of the year. This attracts a 2.5% discount if you pay complete fees at the beginning of the session.
  • Pay the semester amount at the start of each semester.
  • Pay in installment during a semester period.

 

Fees are to be paid into the university account at a recognised bank in Kenya. The account details are listed below.

Students can also pay fees using the M-PESA payment option by

i. Login into their M-pesa account on their mobile and clicking on pay bill.

ii. Use pay bill number 787879.

iii. Enter the account number as the registration number.

iv. Click on make payments.

 

How To Check Results Online

Students can check each semester results online once they have been approved by the school academic board. Results can also be found on the college notice board once they are available.

To check results online students have to

  1. Login to the Student Portal at https://portal.jkuat.ac.ke
  2. Click on student portal link in the homepage
  3. Enter your Login details i.e. your username and password in lowercases (small letters).
  4. Click on the login tab
  5. On the display page click on Check Results
  6. Go to your college or department and click on the semester you wish to check
  7. Results can be printed once you have accessed results in the student portal.

 

Note:

The Academic board has the right to seize the results of any student who is yet to pay their fees or are been investigated by the schools disciplinary board.
