Lil Kesh Biography And Childhood

Keshinro Ololade AKA Lil Kesh was born on the 14th of March,1995, a Nigerian singer, rapper and Songwriter. He rose to fame with his chart-topping single titled “Shoki” rose to important acclaim from music critics. Lil Kesh was born and raised in Bariga area of Lagos, an environment known for its toughness and ruggedness. His music career started in 2012 whereas rapping among his peers in Bariga till he released his first single “Lyrically”, one that quickly became well-liked in Nigerian Universities. In 2015, he was appointed within the Best New Act to observe class at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. He’s presently signed to YBNL Nation, a record label Owned by Olamide.

Lil Kesh Early Life And Education

Lil Kesh was born to a Yoruba parents in Bariga, Lagos State and also completed both his primary and secondary school education in the same neighborhood. Lil Kesh took interest in dancing before going into music after watching some of his peers rap on the street in the neighborhood. He is currently studying Linguistics at the University Of Lagos Akoka, Lagos State. Lil Kesh claimed he was told by his parent that he must complete his Education even if he wants their full support.

Lil Kesh Music Career

His professional career started in 2012 but he became popular in 2014 after he recorded his first single “Lyrically” which was positively accepted majorly by students in Nigerian universities. Through Olamide,s Record Label YBNL Nation, Lil Kesh came out with another Singe titled “Shoki”, a song which got him a nomination in the Best Street Hip-Hop Artiste category at The Headies 2014 while “Shoki Remix” which featured special appearances from Olamide and Davido got nominated in the Hottest Single of the Year at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards also at the Headies same year..

In April 2014, he signed his first Official music contract with YBNL Nation. Lil Kesh’s versatility and style of music has been likened to that of his mentor Olamide who raps and sings in his local dialect, Yoruba. He However, was criticised for using too muchvulgar sentences and not finding the right balance in the lyrics of his songs. In an interview with a popular media outfit, Lil Kesh said “they are singles not an album, I know the kind of market am directing my songs to, am from the streets, I know what the people from the street want to listen to…they should wait for my album that is expected to drop towards the end of the year. I have very positive songs”.
