Ahmadu Bello University is one of federal universities of high repute in Nigeria. It is fondly called ABU and is located in Zaria. Requirements

Generally, all course will require a five (5) credit passes in O level results (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB) in relevant subjects relating to the intended course of study. This O level results should not be more than two (2) sittings. This should be accompanied with a good UTME score of above 200. Post UTME

With the above mentioned academic performance, you are not guaranteed admission yet, but its a good pathway to fulfill your academic pursuit. You will now have to write a post UTME and you will be required to pass it and obtain a certain pass mark based on your intended course of study. Procedure After Admission

Once you have been offered admission, ensure you check your name again to be sure. You will need to go to school and locate your faculty for screening. Please make sure you have the following documents with you for the screening.

  1. Jamb slip original,
  2. O’ level results certificate or print out
  3. Birth certificate
  4. Local government certificate of identification letter
  5. Lots of passports
  6. Secondary school Testimonial
  7. Letter of admission print out

 

All of these must be in a file with which you will do your screening.

 

Next step will to visit the institution portal, www.portal.abu.edu.ng and login into your account. Navigate to the school fees tab, click on the academic session and you will be able to generate transaction slip. Take note of the transaction ID which you will use to make payment at the bank.

 

Next is your course registration. You should visit your department to ask about the courses to register. After getting the details, you may then log into the portal and proceed to course registration tab. Register all the courses and submit after verifying all the courses. Print the course forms, it will be needed later.

 

Finally, you will have to request for accommodation. Please note that if you don’t intend to stay on campus, you may ignore it but its best you stay on campus at least for the first year. You will be required to pay for the accommodation too online after been granted one. You do all these via the portal, simply log in to access this.
