Gce Registration Processes Step By Step With All You Must Know
General Certificate Examinations (GCE) is the examination offered for private candidates. GCE is the old name for West African Senior School Certificate Examination. The West African Examination Council (WAEC) normally conduct both school and private examination but at different times. The school is usually done in May/June while the private candidates or GCE is been in Nov/Dec. The private examination is known as the GCE.
Just recently, WAEC made an announcement that GCE will now be done twice in a year. This means private candidates have a choice to make either to register for the first GCE or second. The first is expected to be coming up in January to February while the second is to come up in August to October. The choice is up to you. I believe this will give room for more people to do the examination and offer more options for candidates.
To register for this private GCE, you will need to make payment into any of the partnered account. The partnered banks include Access Bank, Diamond Bank, FCMB, Eco Bank, First Bank, Fidelity Bank, Wema Bank, GT Bank, Heritage Bank, Skye Bank, Sterling Bank, UBA, Stanbic IBTC, Union Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Zenith Bank and Unity Bank. You are going to make payment into any bank of your choice.

In this GCE examination, you will be able to choose from the pool of nineteen (19) subjects in the first GCE. These subjects include General Mathematics, Physics, Further Mathematics, Biology, English Language, Literature-in-English, Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Chemistry, Civic Education, Agricultural Science, Islamic Studies, Economics, Christian Religious Studies, Financial Accounting, Government, Geography
and Commerce. It is pertinent to get adequate information about courses to register that will be required for your interested course of study.
Please note that the examination will note take place in every nooks and crannies of the country like it used to be. It will take place in all the states in the country but it won’t be in every part of the states like in the time past. You will need to check the areas the centers will be on the board website before applying so as to know the choice of center to make when filling the online form.
Registration Procedures
You are required to make payment in favour of the board to any of those stated banks. Please note that you will have to add bank charges to the price of the form when paying into the bank. You will be given a PIN in return that will grant you access to online registration on the board website. You will then visit the website and register, filling your biodata, upload a passport photograph and biometrics registration. After a successful registration, you are to print your photo card which will contain results checker and also serve as entrance pass into the examination hall. You are expected to also print your timetable after a successful registration.
