Federal university, Lafia is one of the 12 new universities established under the previous administration of former president Dr. Goodluck Jonathan. At the moment the university has had its courses accredited by the Nigerian university commission. More courses are still on the way but the available ones are accredited already.
The university like many of its counterparts in Nigeria, offers admission to anyone who meets the requirements of five credit passes at maximum of two sittings in either WAEC, NECO or NABTEB. Such candidate must write and pass the UTME examination. Success candidates must pass the post UTME of the institution to get qualified for the admission. Prospective candidates are advised to first check the available courses to know if his or her course of interest is available in the university.
How To Pay School Fees
The federal university, Lafia has school fees schedule that covers lots of areas for both fresh and returning students. The school fees covers ICT, acceptance fee, medical examination, SUG dues, library, caution, sanitation, faculty dues, departmental dues, field trip/project/teaching practice, lab/practical, sports/games, results/verification etc. All these makes up N45,000 for returning students while fresh students pay N50,000. The school fees is paid at the designated banks. The fresh students will have to pay the acceptance fee first and then proceed to other registration exercise before paying the school fees via remita. You will need to print out the admission letter, get the acceptance fee evidence of payment, photocopies of credentials and passport photographs for registration. Then payment can be made through remita;
- Log on to www.remita.net to generate RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference) number
- Navigate and click on Pay a Federal Government Agency and endeavour to fill in all required details. These details include
- Name of MDA: Federal University, Lafia
- Name of Service/Purpose: School fees
iii. Amount: input the exact amount
- Payer’s Name: full name of the student. Pay into designated Bank by RRR into The account.
With this, the school fees is paid in full.
You will need to login into your portal to verify your payment online so that it can reflect. You input the PIN on your transaction receipt. This should produce the university payment receipt or an acknowledgement page.

How To Check Results
To view results, you will need to log on to institution portal with your ID and password. You can then navigate to results panel where you will select session and semester to view the results. If the results have been uploaded, you will be able to see the results but if not, you check offline wise. Availability of results online is dependent on whether or not it has been uploaded. Due the institution’s newness, you may check all results at your department. You may also visit the department that handled the course for results.
