One of the innovative ideas of Nigerian banks is the fact that you can now check your account balance on the go. You no longer have to go to the bank to check your balance.
You probably know this already. In this article, we would be bringing to you all the short codes of the banks in Nigeria so that irrespective of your bank, you can check your balance on the go. Note that you can only check your balance with your registered phone number.
Diamond Bank
Diamond Bank has several avenues for account balance checking as follows:
- You can dial *426# and then insert 1 in response to the on-screen command to check your account balance.
- Open a Diamond Y’ello account by dialing *710# and then go ahead to check your account balance by dialing *710*556*PIN#
- Dial 0700-300-0000, follow the voice prompt and press 1 then insert the sixteen digits of your ATM card and press the # key. You will be prompted to provide your four digit self-service code which you were given during your registration for the service. If you like, you can change this code to your preferred pin.
Fidelity Bank
To check your account balance if you are a Fidelity Bank customer, simply dial *770# and follow the prompt.
Sterling Bank
If you are a Sterling Bank customer, dial *822*6*account number# with your registered phone number and follow the on-screen command to check your account balance.
First City Monument Bank
To check your FCMB account balance, simply dial *389*214# and follow the prompt.
Guaranty Trust Bank
GTB Customers can dial *737# to register for mobile banking and *737*6*1# to check their account balance.
Access Bank
To check your Access Bank account balance, dia *901*5# and follow the prompt to enter the last four digits of your Bank Verification Number (BVN).
You can also send “BAL Account Number” as an SMS to 4892018453. For example; text “BAL 00568129054” to 4892018453 check your balance. Do not forget to leave the space in between BAL and your account number. Your balance will be sent to you as an SMS.

First Bank
To check your First Bank Account number, dial *894*00#.
Ecobank
Ecobank customers can simply dial *326*0# to check their balance.
Stanbic IBTC
If you are a Stanbic IBTC customers and you want to check your account balance, simply dial *909# and follow the on-screen command to choose the check balance menu.
Unity Bank
For checking Unity Bank account balance, dial *389*215# and provide your four digit pin.
Zenith Bank
Zenith Bank customers can dial *966*00# and choose the balance menu to check their account balance.
Keystone Bank
To check your Keystone Bank account balance, dial *085*082# if you are a Glo subscriber or *322*082# if you are an MTN, etisalat or airtel subscriber to check your bank account balance. Then, enter your account number following the prompt and confirm with your four digit pin.
Union Bank
Union Bank customers can simply dial *382*032# to register for the service and check via texting “Bal” to 20123.
Skye Bank
Skye Bank customers should simply dial *833# and choose balance following the prompt to check their account balance.
United Bank for Africa (UBA PLC)
Customers of UBA should dial *919*00# and enter their four digit to check their balance.
Heritage Bank
To check your account balance, dial *322*030# and follow the on screen command to choose the balance menu.
Wema Bank
If you are a Wema Bank customer, dial *945*0# and follow the on-screen command to check your balance.
