The Babcock University Courses And Requirements

General Requirements

• All candidates should have at least 5 credit passes in relevant subjects which should include English Language and mathematics at GCE O’Level, WASCE, SSCE, NECO at maximum of 2 sittings.
• All candidates with Teachers Grade II (TC II) with passes at credit or merit levels with addition of credit passes in relevant subjects at GCE, WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents may be considered.
• All candidate should make at least 180 and above pass mark in JAMB to qualify for the screening exercise by the Babcock University.

THE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION & HUMANITIES

The Department Of History And International Studies

The Degree Offered: B.A. (Hons.) History & International Studies
All the Requirements: A 5 credits in GCE/SSCE/NECO which includes English Language, History/Government and any other 3 subjects.

The Department Of Languages And Literary Studies

The Degrees Offered: B.A. (Hons.) English Studies
the Requirements: A 5 credits in English Language, Literature in English and any other three subjects.

The Department Of Religious Studies

The Degrees Offered: B.A. (Hons) Religious Studies [1]
B.A. (Hons.) Christian Religious Studies. [2]
the Requirements: A 5 credits in English Language, CRK or IRS and any other 3 subjects for [1] and CRS for [2] above. They require a pass in Mathematics for each of the programs.

The Department Of Education

B.Sc. (Ed) Hons
1. In Business Education
2. In Economics Education
B.Ed. (Hons)

The Requirements: please for No 1, 2 above, 5 credits in O’level results including English and Mathematics and any other 3 relevant subjects. And for No 4 above, 5 credits in O’level results including English Language and Literature in English, and any other 3 relevant subjects. Also for No 3 above, 5 credits in O’level results including English Language and Mathematics, and any other 3 science subjects. And for No 5 above, you need 5 credits in O’level result which must include English Language and Mathematics and any other 3 social science subjects.
For Direct Entry: the holders of NCE, OND, HND or equivalent can apply for Direct Entry

The Department Of Music And Creative Arts

The Degree Offered: B.A. (Hons.) Music
the Requirements: A 5 credits in English Language, and any other four subjects.

THE SCHOOL OF LAW & SECURITY STUDIES

For Department Of Law

The Degree Offered: L.L.B. (Hons) Law
the Requirements: A 5 credits in English Language, Literature in English, Mathematics and any other two social science subjects.
for Direct Entry: you need an advanced level in Higher School Certificate or a Bachelor of Arts degree in a related course from any recognized University with second class lower division and above. All candidates must present their transcripts and O’ level results- as stated in the O’ level requirements above.

THE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

For Department Of Accounting

The Degree Offered: B.Sc. (Hons) Accounting
the Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, Economics, Mathematics and any other two relevant subjects.
Please note that a pass in Economics may be considered provided the candidate has a credit in Accounting or Commerce.

For Department Of Banking & Finance

The Degrees Offered: B.Sc. (Hons.)/ACIB in Banking & Finance(5-year program)
B.Sc. (Hons.) Banking & Finance
the Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, Economics, Mathematics and any other two relevant Social Science subjects.

For Department Of Business Administration & Marketing

The Degrees Offered: B.Sc. (Hons.)Business Administration
B.Sc. (Hons.) Marketing
the Requirements: A 5 credits in English Language, Economics, Mathematics and any other two relevant Social Science subjects.
Please note that a pass in Economics may be considered provided the candidate has a credit in Commerce or Business Methods.
