Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo was born 9th June, 1980 in
Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. He is popularly known and fondly called by his stage name D’banj. He is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, musician, entrepreneur and TV host. His genre of music are Afropop , R&B and pop.
Dbanj’s Education Background
D’banj was expected to follow after the order of his father as a military man. He was enrolled to the Nigerian Military School at age eleven but He resisted the system and disenrolled from the school after three years. In the Military school he was a member of the elite drum corp of the Nigerian Army. He later proceeded to Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Ibara, Abeokuta where he was a church worker. There he completed his secondary school education. The Koko Master, D’banj then proceeded to the Lagos State University where he was studying Mechanical engineering. However due to the constant strikes and several irregularities in the school he then decided to withdraw from the school. He further moved to London to continue his education which he never concluded.

Musical Career
The Koko Master as fondly called by fans was introduced to the harmonica by his late older brother, Femi Oyebanjo, who reportedly died in a plane crash at the age of seventeen. He decided to be playing the harmonica to remember his brother. At a later time, he found out that he could make lots of from the harmonica.
It was in London that he met Don Jazzy and the both began working together. D’banj worked as a security man to make ends meet then. The two later returned to the country in 2004 and released Tongolo which was a hit. It was not easy gaining his father’s approval into music. He explained this in his song All Da Way from his debut album. Tongolo video was reportedly paid for by his mother.
Since then, he released several songs and worked with several artist like Kayswitch ‘D Produkt’, Kanye West, Tonto Dikeh, Indomix, Big Sean, Wande Coal, Durella, J.Sol, Jay Sleek, Dee Vee, Olamide, Fally Ipupa, 2 Face Idibia, Snoop Dogg, Akon, Don Jazzy, Dr SID, Ebenez Tizzy etc. He has as well worked under record labels such as DB Records, GOOD Music, Mercury, Sony Music Entertainment, ROCKSTAR4000 etc.
Awards And Net worth
D’banj has been nominated severally for different prestigious awards for a record 87 times in the past. He has won 29 music awards, including the awards for Best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007, Artist of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2009, Best International Act: Africa at the 2011 BET Awards, and Best-selling African Artist at the 2014 World Music Awards, Evolution award at the 2015 MTV Africa Music awards to mention a few.
He also has divers endorsement which include, his first endorsement from an energy drink called Power Fist, D’banj was named the Bank of Industry (BOI) ambassador in 2013, D’Banj Secures Deal With Heritage Bank in 2014 and he was named the official African ambassador for Beats by Dre that same year. In February 2015, D’banj became the official African ambassador for Ciroc Nigeria.
According to Forbes, D’banj is said to be worth $30 million. He also lives in his own mansion and has a fleet of cars which include Three Toyota Prado Jeeps estimated at $70,000 each, Aston Martin Vantage valued at $230,000 and Bentley which cost $320,000.
