Funke Akindele also known as Jenifer is a famous Nollywood actress who was born on the 24th, August, 1976 in Ikorodu, Lagos State of Nigeria. She is one of the three  children born to Mr. and Mrs. Akindele. Her father is retired school Principal and the mother is a serving medical doctor.

 

Education

Funke began her education at Grace Children Schools at Gbagada, Lagos. she later proceeded to Lagos State Model College, Igbokuta for her secondary school education.

For her Tertiary education, she  studied Mass Communication at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic ( then referred to as Ogun State Polytechnic)  where she obtained Ordinary National Diploma (OND). She also bagged a Law degree from University of Lagos (UniLag).

 

 

Career And Awards

Funke Akindele started her career as a TV presenter. At 22 years of age, she came to limelight when featuring in a popular United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) sponsored family television program titled “I Need To Know”

 

Funke left for Nollywood and has featured in numerous Nollywood movies. She is both an actress and a writer. In 2009, she produced a record breaking movie titled “Jenifa” and released “Return of Jenifa” followed by  “Jenifa’s Diary,” all of which has brought her more fame and prospects.  She has also featured divers movies and produced several others such as Ohun buruku, Eda, Edunjobi, Etanu, Ole Ole, Akeju, Emi ni toto, Agbefo, Okun ife, Risikat, Aje meta,

Odun baku and several others. Her newest series is Jenifa in London, it is already having good reviews among all.

Marriage And Wedding Pictures

Funke Akindele got married to Alhaji Adeola Kehinde Oloyede (Almaroof) on the 26th May, 2012. The marriage lasted only   a little over a year. In July 2013, she divorced Oloyede citing irreconcilable difference. In an interview with E-47, she stated that she only enjoyed the first two months of the marriage and that she was severally abused. At the moment, she is married to a Nigerian rapper, Abdul Rasheed Bello a.k.a JJC Skillz. They did a silent wedding in London in May 2016.

Funke Akindele also has and runs her non-governmental organisation. This is called THE JENIFA FOUNDATION. The foundation is saddled with the responsibility of nurturing young talents and providing them with vocational skills.
