The federal university Dutse (FUD), is one of the nine universities created by the Nigerian government in the year 2011. The university with its motto “knowledge, excellence and services” is located in the ancient city of Dutse, the capital of Jigawa state and is headed by Professor Fatima Batul Muktar.

FUD offers both undergraduates and postgraduates programs. The university seeks to attract both students and lecturers, support teaching on local, national and global issues with in-depth research and create academic collaboration with many other universities and higher institutions in Nigeria and around.

The federal university of Dutse offers degree programs in Medicine, Agricultural science, Social sciences, Humanities, Natural science etc. the university has grown to about 3, 500 students from about 205 students who started with them on the first academic operation, while they also have over I, 500 teaching and non-teaching staff, with the university offering over 20 courses.



How To Check FUD Admission List

The federal university Dutse will always publish their first and second list of candidates who were offered provisional admission into the university for the current academic year on their official website.

The list will also be submitted to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) by the management of the institution, which means candidates who take part of any screening exercise can also check their admission status on JAMB portal.

Courses And Requirements

Here are the lists of available courses for the undergraduate program offered in the federal University Dutse:

  • Computer Science

You need credit passes in English, Mathematics, Physics, and any other two subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Further Maths and Geography.


  • Biological Sciences

You need five (5) O’level credit passes in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, and any other science subjects like Physics and Geography.


  • Microbiology And Biotechnology

You need minimum of five credits on English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.


  • Chemistry

You must have credit in five subjects which are English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Geography.


  • Biochemistry

You need five credits in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.


  • Political Science

You need five credits in English, Mathematics, Government, and any two subjects like Economics, Religious studies, Commerce.


  • Sociology

You must have English, Mathematics, Government, Economics and Commerce.


  • Agricultural And Fisheries

You need English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric and Physics.


  • English Language And Linguistics

You must have five credit in English, Mathematics and three of the following subjects: Religious studies, Literature in English, History, Government, Economics and Commerce.
