Noun Courseware: How To Download Noun Course Materials Online And All You Must Know

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) is a Federal government institution, operated as an Open Distance Learning (ODL) institution; it was initially established in 1983 as springboard for open and distance learning in Nigerian and was later suspended in 1984. However, it was re-enacted in 2001 during the administration of former President Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo.

In its mode of learning, the institution does not provide classroom lectures to students except at some certain study centres. For instance its study centre in Lagos provides lectures to all its Law undergraduates, and provides necessary course materials to all students after their registration process has been completed. And the university has been accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

At start off, the institution recorded 32,400 students across the country, the institution is first of its kind in the West African, and notably the largest tertiary institution in terms of student numbers and is popularity. In attempt to further facilitate the learning process of its students NOUN offers Radio station service which broadcast at 105.9 FM, an E-library service which gives students access to relevant books, journals and internet facilities, it also offers scholarship programme and E-courseware; a platform that gives students the opportunity to download educational material for free, these books and materials can be downloaded in PDF format.

 

 

How To Download Course Materials

  • Students who seek to download this courseware are required to visit the institution web address at http://nou.edu.ng/noun_ocl/courses.htm
  • Student must have Adobe acrobat reader installed on their browser to download the materials
  • Students should visit the library and search for the material you want beside the title box
  • The material will pop up in a new window. Once you are done reading it, simply close the window to return to the Courseware
  • If you wish to save the course material after opening it simply click on the save button in Adobe acrobat reader. Alternatively, if you wish to download the course materials for reading it later just click on the link and select the “save link as…” option.
  • If you wish to search through the Courseware for any course material, simply go to NOUN “Course Material“, via the search box.
