Redeemer University Postgraduate Programs, The Requirements And All You Must Know

Today, we want to share with you all the postgraduate programs of Redeemers University and their requirements for admission into a full-time post graduate program for the current Academic Session.

Here Are The Postgraduate Programs

The Department of Behavioral Studies
1. M.Sc/M.Phil/Ph.D (Psychology) with specialization in

• Clinical psychology
• Developmental psychology
• Industrial/Organisational psychology
• Social psychology

The Admission Requirements

• All candidates for admission into M.Sc. Psychology (Clinical, Developmental, Industrial/ Organizational, or Social option) should possess at least B. Sc. Degree in Psychology from a recognized university with a Second Class Upper. All candidates with Second Class Lower but with a CGPA of 3.00 on a 5- point scale or 4.50 on a 7-point scale may also be considered.

  All candidates for admission into Ph.D Psychology (Clinical, Developmental, Industrial/ Organizational, or Social option) should possess an M. Sc. in Psychology from an institution recognized by the University Senate, with a weighted average of at least 60% or equivalent grade. All candidates who obtained a weighted average of between 55 and 59.5% at the M. Sc. level may be admitted into the M.Phil/Ph.D Programme

The Department Of English

M.A (English) with specialization in

• English Language
• Literature-in-English

The Admission Requirements

• Candidates must have Five (5) O’level credit passes to include English language, Literature in English and at least a pass in Mathematics.
• All Candidates for admission to the M. A. program in English will normally be graduates of English with a Second Class (Hons) Upper Division from universities recognized by the Senate of Redeemer’s University. But however, all English language graduates with a (Lower Division), and those from related disciplines (such as Education/English or Linguistics) may be considered.

The Department of History & Int’l Relations
M.A (History & Int’l Relations)

The Admission Requirements

• All candidates for the M.A. Program in History and International Relations must have five credit passes including English, History or Government at the ‘O’ Level as basic requirement
• All candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Arts (BA) in History, History and International Studies, History and Diplomatic Studies, History and International Relations as well as History and Strategic Studies or B.Sc. in Political Science. And note also, that candidates must have obtain a minimum of Second Class Lower Division degree in an approved and recognized universities.

M.A Theatre Arts

The Admission Requirements

• You must have Five (5) O’level credit passes to include English language, Literature in English and at least a pass in Mathematics.
• All Successful applicants will normally have a first degree at 2.2 level or higher (or its equivalent in the case of applicants from abroad) in an arts or humanities subject.

The Department of Biological Sciences
M.Sc/Ph.D (Microbiology) With specialization in

• Food Microbiology
• Medical Microbiology (Bacteriology, Virology)
• Environmental Microbiology
• Molecular Biology and Genetics

The Admission Requirements

• All candidate must have at least five (5) credit passes at “O” level, including English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and any other science subject.
• For candidates with First Class or Second Class (upper division) in Microbiology or any equivalent (Botany, Zoology, Biology and Biochemistry) from the Redeemer’s University and any other University recognized by the Senate is eligible for admission.
• For candidates with Second Class (Lower division) B.Sc Degree in Microbiology from any other University may be eligible for admission
• All candidates entering for a Ph.D degree should have obtained M.Sc degree in Microbiology or related disciplines from Redeemer’s University or any recognized University with at least a weighted average grade of 60%. (B).
• Note that all applicants will be required to submit three (3) referee’s report attesting to the candidate’s intellectual capacity and aptitude for independent research problem solving.

The Department of Physical Sciences
M.Sc/Ph.D (Physics) with specialization in

• Communication Physics
• Theoretical and Computational Physics
• Space Physics
• Lower Atmospheric Physics

The Admission Requirements

• All candidate must have at least five (5) credit passes at ‘O’ level, including English Language, Mathematics, and Physics.
• All candidate with at least a Second Class (Lower Division) B.Sc Degree in Physics with Electronics of the Redeemer’s University or any other recognized University is eligible for admission. But however, candidates from any other university may be required to offer lower-level courses which are relevant to their areas of specialization.
• All candidates for the Ph.D degree should have obtained the M. Sc degree in Physics from Redeemer’s University or any other recognized university with a weighted average score of 60%.

All The Postgraduate Program Duration

For all Masters of Arts and Science Programs will run for minimum of three academic semesters (18 months) and a maximum of Six Academic Semesters. And while PhD programs are for a minimum of Six Academic Semesters (36 calendar months) and maximum of (48 months).
