The Al-Qalam University is an Islamic university founded in 2005 and situated in Katsina. The university was originally known as Katsina University, Katsina. It came into existence following the prototype Islamic university built in Niger Republi by the organization for Islamic conference. Thus, the institution is built to cater for both moral and academic excellence in humanities and sciences.

The institution has both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. There are several courses scattered across the academic programmes. The institution’s academics is structured into schools and colleges which include Humanities, Education, Natural and Applied Sciences, Social and Management Sciences, School of Basic and Remidial Studies and School of Post-Graduate Studies.

Prospective students must meet the basic admission requirements as well as specific requirements for the intended course of study. Basic admission requirements include six (6) o level credit passes in relevant subjects with a good UTME score. Applicants must also have a good score in post UTME to be considered for admission into their respective courses of interest. Candidates with NCE and OND may also apply via the direct entry platform into 200 level.
