ATBU Postgraduate: How To Register On The Portal, Requirements And All You Must Know

The University of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University located in Bauchi,the state capital of Bauchi state in the northern part of Nigeria is one of the many Universities in the country that offers admission to willing aspirants for the pursuit of Post Graduate Diploma(PGD), Masters and PhD degrees for all citizens and foreigners who intend going through the tutelage of the University administration. They University offers admission only to aspirants who possess these following Requirements:

 

 

The Admission Requirements For Postgraduate Studies At ATBU

Candidates are required to have the following requirements inorder to be considered eligible to apply for admission into the various postgraduate studies programmes at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University.

  1. Any Graduate of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University or other recognized Universities with a Second Class lower or upper Honours Degree.

 

2. Holders of any other qualifications together with relevant field experience as deemed acceptable to the                          University.

 

 

FOR POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA [PGD]

1.The Graduates of  recognized Universities with at least Second Class Honours Degree.

2.Candidates that have any other qualifications together with relevant field experience as deemed acceptable to the University.

 

FOR MASTERS DEGREE

Holders of a degree from recognized universities who have obtained the approved first degree with at least Second Class Honor or its equivalent; or candidates with University Honours Degree and Diploma of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University or other recognized Universities with at least a credit level pass.

Candidates whose degrees are unclassified with an average of C or above

Entrants with a Hnd with at least a credit pass from recognized institutions and at least a credit pass of Postgraduate Diploma of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in the relevant areas.

Entrants are to be tested via a qualifying examination either before approval of registration or at an appropriate stage of their course work or research.

FOR MASTER OF PHILOSOPHY [M. PHIL] AND MASTERS BY RESEARCH DEGREES

Aspirants who obtained the approved first degree with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division)from recognized universities.

A Second Class Honours Degree plus a considerable relevant industrial experience.

 

FOR DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY [PHD] DEGREE

1.Candidates who hold Masters Degree appropriate for the proposed areas of study.

2.Graduates of other recognized Universities who hold higher degrees considered by the University to be equivalent.

3.Applicants for the PHD programmes will have to sit for an examination to be examined thoroughly.

 

 

How To Apply For Postgraduate Studies At ATBU

Applicants for admission into postgraduate programmes should follow the following process to apply:

 

Interested Candidates can obtain the application forms by visiting the school’s Official portal at http://gsch.atbu.edu.ng

 

Intending Applicants will make a payment of a non-refundable fee of ₦10,000 using either a debit/Credit Card or visiting any Remita approved Bank. The filled out application forms (can be gotten from the portal), together with copies of relevant certificates, should be returned to the Secretary, Postgraduate School.

 

Note

Each Aspirant should endeavour to see that his or her 3 referee forms are uploaded to the portal and his or her former institution send the confidential reports and academic transcripts respectively directly to the Secretary, Postgraduate School.

Application forms of candidates will be submitted to the dean of relevant studies of each Programme by members of the Postgraduate school.

Every Candidates that seek the regular Postgraduate Diploma and Masters Degree Programmes will be considered for admission once in an academic session (normally in October or the beginning of the first semester), while the entrants for research and PhD program will be considered twice in a session (at the beginning of the first and second semesters; normally October and April respectively).

The candidates should know that the Applications for the first semester postgraduate admission should reach the Postgraduate School not later than 30th July of the same year.

Any Candidate who needs to change their programme of study, degree in view field of study, etc, must reach the Secretary, Postgraduate School before the last date for submission of completed forms.

The Application Form, Admission Letter, Acceptance Letter download and Registration fee invoices should be generated through the student account on the portal.

Payments made via the portal are the only recognized payment.

Candidates giving their money to another to help them complete a payment is not acceptable, hence, they Candidates are mandated to make their payments and all registration processes themselves.
