Ahmadu Bello University located in the ancient city of Zaria, Kaduna state is the largest university in Nigeria. It is a Federal government owned university established as the university of Northern Nigeria in 1962 and later named after the first premier of Northern Nigeria and Sardauna of Sokoto, Alhaji sir Ahmadu Bello. It has over 35,000 students, a massive main campus, a few research institutions and two smaller teaching hospital campuses.

The university runs on two campuses: Kongo and a main campus in Samaru, both in Zaria. A pre-degree school located in Funtua just a stone’s throw away from the main campus is also owned by the university. The Administrative offices, research facilities and faculties of physical sciences, life sciences, social sciences, arts and languages, Education, engineering, environmental design, agricultural sciences and medical sciences are situated in the Samaru campus.

The Law Faculty and the Faculty of Administration(which consists of business administration, Accounting, local government, and development studies alongside the Public administration departments) could be found in the Kongo campus. Other programs managed by the school are located at various affiliate institutions.

The university supervises a wide range of Undergraduate and Graduate programs. They also offer Associate degrees, vocational and remedial programs too. The institution has a large medical program and boasts of one of the largest teaching hospitals in Nigeria and Africa with their A.B.U teaching hospital. Thanks to the university’s widespread respect and admiration for sound academics and morals, thousands of candidates apply yearly for Admission into their Degree and pre degree programmes.

Only the best are selected through a rigorous screening process by the university’s Admission Unit. Candidates who scored 180 and above in the universal tertiary and matriculation examinations(UTME) and must have selected the university as their first choice where Eligible for screening. Furthermore applicants where to possess passes in at least Five ‘O’ level courses including English Language, mathematics and the rest three in their relevant courses.

As it stands, admission status could be seen on the JAMB admission status checking portal. Follow the Guidelines below to reveal and be aware of your admission status:

Logon to the JAMB site at jamb.org.ng/efacility.
Enter your Jamb profile using your username and password.
Scroll through the page to the tab “check admission status”.
Enter examination year and registration number in the columns provided for.
Lastly, click the “check admission status” to view your ABU admission status.

For successful applicants, click “ACCEPT” or “REJECT” to receive or decline the admission.
