Benin Electricity Distribution Company (“BEDC” or “Benin Disco”) as we know is one of the distribution companies (DisCos) that was created following the shakeup and privatization of the state-owned Power Utility, which was under the former Power Holding Company of Nigeria Plc. BEDC is solely responsible for retail distribution of electricity in the following region. Delta, Edo, Ekiti, and Ondo States with a total geographical coverage of 55,770 square kilometers. The company currently operates from a total of twenty two (22) business districts with approximately 350 offices that is located across the four (4) states with about 13 million consumers of their daily electricity output in about 4 million households across the region.
