Early Life And Education

Born Iniobong Edo Ekim on April 23,1982 (Present age 36 years) into a strict and Christian family of six, Ini Edo has come a long way from her humble background. Ini Edo hails from the Ibibio tribe of Akwa Ibom state close to Calabar. Her parents, mother a teacher and father a church elder raised four kids, three girls and a boy in a strict and no-nonsense upbringing.

Ini Edo attended Cornelius Connely College for her secondary education and proceeded to the University of Uyo where she obtained a Diploma in Theatre Arts, she then proceeded to the University of Calabar where she studied English for het first degree. She also got a scholarship to study law at the National Open University in 2014.

Personal Life And Marriage

Ini Edo is a divorcée. On November 2008, she got married in an elaborate ceremony to a businessman named Philip Ehiagwina. The marriage was dissolved on October 2014 on grounds of unfaithfulness. She proceeded to marry another another believed to be based in America but she also walked out of that marriage after some time. The sultry thespian is said to love clubbing and doesn’t deny it, she loves to hang out with friends and dance the night away. She was once rumoured to have been involved in a lesbianism scandal alongside her colleague Tonto Dikeh in 2011 which they later debunked.

Her Film Career

She started her acting career in 2003 when her school went on a strike and she went to an audition with a friend. The audition landed her a role in her very first movie “Thick Madam”but her breakthrough didn’t come until 2004 when she played the female lead in the movie

“World Apart”. She has acted in several movies and has appeared in over 100 movies making her one of Nigeria’s and Africa’s highest profile actress. From the age of nineteen when she acted her acting career till date, Ini Edo has remained one of the most talented and highly sought after actress in the Nigerian film industry.
